Charlie Efford
I have a good understanding of people, how they operate in the world of work and how businesses can organise themselves to make best use of their talents. My consulting focus is reward and performance management, although I have many other talents.
I did my apprenticeship with the Hay Group, and stayed with them for eight years, leaving to become a Director with Aquarius Management Consultants in 1998. After seven years learning how to run a consultancy I set up my own business JCMC Ltd. This gave me the freedom to follow my own pursuits.
Whilst I have a deep knowledge of jobs, job evaluation, reward and performance management, my primary focus is helping organisations create systems that bring out the best in people. I have consulted with large and small organisations across all sectors. I prefer pragmatic and straightforward approaches. My experience helps me identify the important issues quickly and offer solutions that add real value.
More about me
I served as an Army officer in the 80’s. I qualified as a ski instructor in the 90’s and as a person centred counsellor in the 00’s. I have two teenage sons who keep me on my toes. I keep fit by rowing and competing in an eight at Cambridge.
I also have an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University, a Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Warwick University, and a Diploma in Management Studies from Farnborough College. I’m an accredited member of the Association for Coaching (MAC).
